The Cleveland Institute of Art Spring Show 2011
Public reception in all three buildings
Tuesday, April 19, 5:30–8pm
Welcome spring by exploring new creations in art and design.
The annual Spring Show has been a tradition at the Cleveland Institute of Art for more than 20 years. The event started as an exhibition of work from our design programs, and has now evolved to include student work from all 19 majors spread across three buildings.
Design work continues to draw some of the show’s biggest crowds. Every spring, faculty members in our three design departments—Industrial Design, Interior Design and Communication Design—invite representatives of leading North American manufacturing companies and design consultancies to this exhibition of student work. Company reps meet with the students, see the quality and breadth of their design work, and interview them for jobs and internships.
Word has gotten out and, for each of the last several years, hundreds of Northeast Ohio residents have attended our Spring Show—not just as prospective employers but as art and design aficionados curious to see the innovative and original work of CIA students. In fact the Spring Show has become one of our most popular annual events.
