    <title>BFA Exhibition May 6-10</title>
    <description>View more than 2,000 works of art when The Cleveland Institute of Art presents its annual Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Thesis Exhibition in the McCullough building, 11610 Euclid Avenue. The show will be open to the public May 6-8, 6:30-9:00PM. A public reception is set for Friday evening, May 9, 6:30-10:00 p.m. Work will remain on view on May 10, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. This artwork promises to challenge viewers with fresh perspectives and commentaries on our world.</description>

    <description>Amanda Almon, assistant professor and department head of Biomedical Art, has been honored as one of the up and coming professionals in Greater Cleveland by Crain’s Cleveland Business. She is one of the “20 in their 20s” featured in Crain’s April 28 issue. Nominated by CIA President David L. Deming, Almon has introduced digital illustration and animation into the curriculum and has established fruitful collaborations with the top hospitals and museums in the city.</description>

The show features work by 12 artists and focuses on the use of color in sculpture and installation work.     <description>John Ewing, director of The Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque, has won a Judson Smart Living Award in the arts category in celebration of his significant contributions to the vitality of University Circle. Ewing co-founded The Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque and the film program at the Cleveland Museum of Art 22 years ago. Also honored with a Judson Smart Living Award was Tim Shuckerow \\'75, director of Case Western Reserve University’s art education and art studio program.</description>

    <title>CIA graduate wins two awards at “Student Emmys”</title>
    <description>Anthony Paul Scalmato, a 2007 CIA graduate, won two awards from the Academy of Television Arts &amp; Sciences Foundation’s College Television Awards for his short film, “When the World Goes Dark.” He accepted the prestigious Bricker Humanitarian Award and a second place in the animation category at a black-tie ceremony in Los Angeles. Scalmato, who majored in T.I.M.E.-Digital Arts and minored in Illustration, animated the film for his BFA (bachelor of fine arts) thesis project. </description>
