Cleveland and CIA named destinations by national publications

Seven (and counting) national publications and websites place Cleveland on their must-visit lists

Cleveland is hot, at least according to a number of major print and online publications listing travel destinations.

The surge of pro-Cleveland publicity this year includes:

  • Travel + Leisure magazine listing Cleveland among the 50 "Best Places to Travel in 2015” and specifically mentioning CIA is one of the places to visit while in Cleveland

  • The Los Angeles Times citing CIA, and its campus project, in the paper’s review of Cleveland as a top destination for 2015

  • Forbes magazine featuring Cleveland in its "Great Urban Weekend Escapes" series
  • The New York Times calling Cleveland one of 52 places to go in 2015
  • Fodor's naming Cleveland to its list of top 25 must-see travel destinations for 2015

So why all the hype just now? Maybe it’s because Lebron James came back to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Republican National Committee chose Cleveland as the site for its 2016 national convention.

“Whatever the impetus, this attention is long overdue,” said CIA President Grafton Nunes. "With Cleveland’s world-class museums, orchestra, and theaters; its restaurants, galleries, sports stadiums, and walkable neighborhoods; Cleveland is not only a great destination, but a great place to live, a great place to attend college, and a great place for art and design.”
