Audio Visual Services

Equipment Reservations & Checkout

Digital projectors as well as other digital and AV equipment are available to borrow from the library. For a list of available equipment, click here.

Please make a reservation by phone or in person as far in advance as possible. The library accepts both single use and semester long reservations for equipment by phone or in person. No email reservations will be accepted.

The library includes needed instructions for setting up and operating their circulating digital AV equipment. Further training with our Audiovisual Services Coordinator may be available by appointment.

The Institute has another digital and AV equipment checkout area located on the third floor of the Joseph McCullough Center.  You may contact them at 216.421.7944, or at checkout@cia.edu

Event support

The Library Audio Visual Services Coordinator provides equipment and staffing support for Institute events.

Please observe Institute procedures for reserving spaces and using room reservation forms.  The Institute’s room reservation form is a vital part of our event support management and record keeping. Contact the Institute’s receptionist at 216.421.7000 or at receptionist@cia.edu to begin this process.

In addition to the instructions provided with our equipment, further training with our Audiovisual Services Coordinator may be available by appointment. Contact the Audiovisual Services Coordinator at thamilton@cia.edu

Services for Faculty

Course Reserves

The Cleveland Institute of Art Library offers course reserves for degree program classes. For specific information and guidelines please refer to the current Course Reserves Policy. To place items on reserve, please complete the reserve form and submit it either by email or in person to the library circulation desk. Click here to view current course reserves.

Artists’ Books and Special Collections

If you would like to use items from our artists’ books collection or special collection materials for your class, please contact Library Director Cris Rom at crom@cia.edu at least two weeks in advance.

AV & Digital Equipment Reservations

Digital and slide projectors, digital cameras, and laptops are available to borrow from the library. The library accepts both single use and semester-long reservations for equipment by phone or in person. Email reservations will not be accepted. Please make your reservations for AV equipment as far in advance as possible. Contact the library staff if you need instruction on how to operate the equipment.

Library Instruction

Do your students really know how to use the library? The library staff is always willing to provide instruction for your class. To schedule a library instruction session, please contact Laura Ponikvar, Image and Instructional Services Librarian, at lponikvar@cia.edu at least two weeks in advance.

Proxy Form

In order for your student assistant or department TS to be able to check out library materials or audio visual equipment for you, we must have a current proxy form on file in the library. Please fill out the proxy form and return it to a library staff person.
