The Cleveland Institute of Art is celebrating outstanding work created by the future leaders in art and design with three vibrant and engaging spring shows. The Institute will display the creative and award winning work produced by the schools’ talented students at the MFA Thesis Exhibition, Spring Design Show and the BFA Exhibitions.
The Institute’s Master of Fine Arts program in Digital Arts spans two years and explores the creative application of advanced digital technologies. The work of these inventive artist professionals explores contemporary culture through the dynamic use of integrated media. This thought-provoking thesis exhibition showcases the finest work of these multimedia artists specializing in animation, interactive media, web design and video production. The show runs from April 16-28, with an opening reception on April 20th from 6:30pm - 9:00pm in the Reinberger Galleries.
The engaging and impressive student work at the Design Show demonstrates that a strong work ethic, broad knowledge of design and refined communication skills are characteristics that make a great designer. Students will display their innovative and award winning work in housewares, automotive, interior, toy and graphic design for the public and potential employers to view. The show will open on April 27th, with a reception from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the design studios of the Gund building. The show will run through May 3, 2007.
The Joseph McCullough Center for Visual Arts will be bursting with energy and excitement as the Institute’s graduating seniors challenge the public with fresh ideas and commentaries on our world at the Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition. Work will be presented for six days in several media including performance and installation art as a culmination of the students careers. The show will run May 7-12 with a reception on May 11th from 6:00 p.m. -11:00 p.m. in the McCullough building.
