Spend a lunch hour learning about the latest in art and design during these Friday lectures. Each lecture features a variety of artists and designers from around the world, including CIA faculty and visiting artists. This event is free and open to the public. Pizza and beverages will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
For over three decades, Skip Sroka has been creating inspired interiors for Washington's elite. Sroka launched his own full service residential and commercial firm Sroka Design, Inc. in 1987, ten years after graduating from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Sroka's ability to deliver each project with a mix of aesthetic understanding, technical expertise and business acumen has made him indispensable to clients. Sroka's design approach balances a client's personal taste and lifestyle with his vast knowledge of design, art and history to create an interior in harmony with its setting that expresses the client's dreams and allows for gracious living and entertaining.
Recently his experience and expertise culminated with the completion of a 47,000 square foot American palace. His timeless designs have been published in dozens of magazines, newspapers and books, including Traditional Home, Town & Country, Home & Design, Coastal Living, Better Homes & Gardens and the Wall Street Journal. A popular speaker about design and active in design charity work, Sroka has been named one of Washington's top designers by Washingtonian, was named Home & Design's Designer of Distinction and won a National Capital Business Ethics award, among other awards and accolades.
