Add event to my calendar

Spend a lunch hour learning about the latest in art and design during these Friday lectures. Each lecture features a variety of artists and designers from around the world, including CIA faculty and visiting artists. This event is free and open to the public. Pizza and beverages will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

In concurrence with his exhibition Curlee Raven Holton: Journey, A Selection of 30 Works Over 30 Years opening that same evening, Holton will speak on his over 30 year career as an artist and educator.

Working with a collection of historically relevant influences, Curlee Raven Holton probes the hidden legacy of African American artists with specificity and elegance. Trained at the Cleveland Institute of Art in drawing and printmaking, and later in painting at Kent State University, Holton moved to the East Coast where he’s currently the David M. Linda Roth Professor of Art at Lafayette College, Easton, Pennsylvania, and Founding Director, Experimental Printmaking Institute. He’s also Executive Director, David C. Driskell Center, University of Maryland, College Park, MD.
