Spend a lunch hour learning about the latest in art and design during these Friday lectures. Each lecture features a variety of artists and designers from around the world, including CIA faculty and visiting artists.

Imagine a creative practice that’s a cross between art and engineering. Imagine taking this May Term course, May 11-29, with some sessions in the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) think[box] maker space and some sessions in Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) art studios. "Hybridity: Interaction Between Arts + Engineering" is a seminar/studio that will address the concepts, practices and technologies of contemporary hybrid activity as interactions between art and engineering, and will include sessions on both campuses. Students from CIA and CWRU School of Engineering will work together to discuss, reveal, and explore new technologies and materials, and new ways of thinking and working.

Learn more about this new course in this Lunch On Fridays presentation by CIA Professor Matthew Hollern, CIA Technical Specialist Amy Sinbondit, and CWRU Associate Professor Malcolm Cooke, in Aitken Auditorium of CIA’s Gund Building, 11141 East Boulevard. Pizza and pop provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Can’t make it to LOF? Contact Matthew Hollern,mhollern@cia.edu or Malcolm Cooke, malcolm.cooke@case.edu.

Note: For CIA students who are currently enrolled at 15 credit hours or less for the spring semester, Hybridity would be added to your spring enrollment courseload at no additional tuition charge. (For CWRU student registration info, please contact Malcolm Cooke, malcolm.cooke@case.edu).
