Actor Willem Dafoe will make a personal appearance at the Cinematheque on Saturday, June 7. Our program "An Evening with Willem Dafoe" will consist of a screening of E. Elias Merhige's 2000 film The Shadow of the Vampire (for which Dafoe was nominated for an Oscar) at 7:00pm, followed by a wide-ranging Q&A with Dafoe about his extraordinary career (approximately 100 films since 1980). Advance tickets to this event (strongly recommended) can only be purchased here. Tickets cost $20; Cinematheque members and those with CIA I.D.'s $15. (If seats remain, $12 tickets for those age 25 & under will be available at the Cinematheque box office on June 7 starting at 4:30pm, cash/check only.) No passes, twofers, or radio winners.

"An Evening with Willem Dafoe" is the culmination of a Willem Dafoe Weekend (June 5-7) that also includes screenings of three of his other films, two of them Cleveland premieres. Theo Angelopoulos' 2008 feature The Dust of Time will show on Thursday, June 5, at 7:00pm at the Capitol Theatre, 1390 W. 65th Street.
