Figuratively Speaking in New York City

H. Pelham Curtis Gallery

New Canaan Library

April 13–May 18, 2014

Scnurr's paintings have always been involved with people in urban spaces, but in different ways. She wanders the city sometimes, searching out the scene or event that will capture her imagination, with the intent to put it into her own visual language. Most, but not all, of her paintings are of New York City and its incredible diversity. Schnurr has been painting New York City since she arrived from Ohio 50 years ago; she never runs out of inspiration.
