The Given and the Imagined in the Art of Barbara Stanczak runs April 3 - May 31.

KSL Art Gallery

Located on the first floor of Kelvin Smith Library, the KSL Art Gallery features multiple exhibits each year, including visiting collections from various campus and community partnerships.

Opening reception, April 3

Join Kelvin Smith Library, the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women and the Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program in celebrating the art of Barbara Stanczak. "The Given and the Imagined in the Art of Barbara Stanczak" will take place at Kelvin Smith Library on Thursday, April 3 from 4:30 to 6:30pm.

"My carvings out of wood and stone require aligning the possibilities of the material with my ideas and the emotional response I want to elicit from the viewer," said Stanczak. "Carving offers me a continuous challenge, surprise, provocation and joy."

The event will feature an interview and discussion with Stanczak about her art, followed by a reception and refreshments in library's Dampeer Room and exhibit in the Hatch Reading Room.
