A whole is completed, then sliced apart and pieced back together again... and again... again. Jessica Pinsky’s striking “sewn paintings” are a mass of color, line and texture. These large scale works tell the tale of her process; a constant putting together and taking apart. By combining painting with sewing and weaving, the end result is beautiful and energetic; fields of pure visual energy.
Jessica Pinsky is the Technical Specialist for CIA’s Fiber + Material Studies Department. She received her MFA from Boston University in 2009, and her BFA in Studio Art from NYU in 2006.
Exhibition runs through Oct. 6. Gallery hours are Monday-Saturday 10a-6p
