James W. Peake

James W. Peake, Oberlin College graduate, is an artist, educator and community organizer who lives and works in Oberlin, Ohio. As Education Director for the non‑profit FAVA (Firelands Association for the Visual Arts), James is involved in the organization of numerous art courses for students of all ages throughout Lorain County. He assists with the implementation of the Big Parade, the Oberlin Chalk Walk, and the FAVA Folding Festival. James founded the FAVA Folding Festival, which includes a gallery exhibition featuring elite origami artists from around the globe, and free public workshops. As an active member of the international folding community, James regularly attends origami conferences throughout the world. His collaborative efforts include extensive work with the Allen Memorial Art Museum, the Oberlin Public Library (OPL), and Oberlin College.
