Jean-Luc Godard anticipated the political upheaval of May ‘68 with this polemical comedy about a group of disenchanted French young people (Jean-Pierre Léaud, Juliet Berto, Godard’s then-wife Anne Wiazemsky, et al.) who set up a Maoist cell in their apartment and try to put their revolutionary ideals into practice.
