Art House Theater Day! Admission to this program only $2!
France | 2014 | various directors
Today is the first-ever Art House Theater Day, a nationwide celebration of the small, independently owned specialty film theaters that enrich many U.S. cities. Organized by the Art House Convergence (a consortium of independent, community-based, mission-driven movie theaters), this special day will be celebrated at the Cinematheque with three unique programs, the first of which is this collection of recent French animated short.
Eight of the best French animated short films from the 2015 Annecy International Animation Film Festival have been selected for this program by the festival’s Artistic Director. They reflect the diversity and excellence of French animation, and have subtitles when needed. Program includes: Alison, Yul and the Snake, Tigers Tied Up in One Rope, Sunday Lunch, A Slice of the Country, Rhizome, My Home, and In Deep Waters. Not appropriate for children. Cleveland premiere. DCP. Total 78 min.
Admission $2; special thanks to Laurence Geannopulos, Cultural Services of the French Consulate in Chicago.
