How much are Cinematheque tickets?

When is the Cinematheque moving to the new George Gund building?

The Cinematheque moved to its new location, the Peter B. Lewis Theater at 11610 Euclid Avenue, on August 1, 2015.

Will the Cinematheque continue to show 35mm films in its new location?

Yes, the Cinematheque continues to show 35mm films regularly , though most movies are now projected digitally (in 2K or 4K).

Where can I purchase tickets?

Tickets are sold at the door on show nights and in advance on this website. (Go to the page for the film you want.) The Cinematheque now accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover as well as cash and checks.

Is parking available?

CIA's new unified campus has three lots, and all of them are accessed from E. 117th Street. Cinematheque patrons should use Lot 73, located in the rear of the complex and encompassing the CIA loading dock. It’s the closest lot to the Cinemat... more

CIA's new unified campus has three lots, and all of them are accessed from E. 117th Street. Cinematheque patrons should use Lot 73, located in the rear of the complex and encompassing the CIA loading dock. It’s the closest lot to the Cinematheque entrance. But if it is full, there is additional parking available in CIA’s annex lot on the other side of E. 117th, along the railroad tracks. Both of these lots are gated, but the gates will be open for Cinematheque patrons. Parking is free. less

Is the Cinematheque wheelchair accessible?

Yes, handicapped parking is located in Lot 73. Use Building Entrance C.

Are concessions available?

Inexpensive refreshments and snacks are available for purchase in the vending machines on the second floor. Other food items can be purchased at nearby Uptown businesses. Food and drinks may be brought into the theater, but we encourage patrons to... more

Inexpensive refreshments and snacks are available for purchase in the vending machines on the second floor. Other food items can be purchased at nearby Uptown businesses. Food and drinks may be brought into the theater, but we encourage patrons to consume them as quietly as possible (avoid rattling bags and noisily opening packaging). Also, NO glass containers. less

Can I receive the film schedule in the mail?

To receive the bi-monthly printed schedule in the mail, one must become a Cinematheque member or donate at least $5 a year to cover mailing costs. (Membership costs $35/year, $20/year for seniors 65 & over and students.) Members also receive o... more
