Blog . WeTransfer
Over the summer, I had an internship that turned into a contract designer job, where we have to transfer large files to one another. Files that are too large to transfer as an attachment in an email. This company introduced me to a website that will transfer these large files to other emails. This website has free use but premium always has more personalization and larger file sizes. I use this site repeatedly and I wouldn’t be able to do my job without this site.
WeTransfer is SO easy! Go to the site, sometimes they ask if you want to use free or go premium, I choose free. Fill out the needed information of sending email (your email), receiving email (who you are sending the files to) and if desired, type up a message for the person to get. To attach the files simply open Finder and drag and drop the files to the site page. There is a limit to size, but this size is much larger than that of emails. When everything is ready hit transfer at the bottom and wait for the circle to be complete and say 100%. You will then get an email that the files have been sent. When the other person goes to download the files, you will get another email saying they are downloading the files. These files have an expiration date, meaning if they are not downloaded by the date they give, then they will be deleted. This date is normally seven days from when they were sent.
