Signal Snowboards dedicates every third Thursday to build a unique snowboard with some eye-catching features. In honor of Steve Jobs, the team designed a snowboard with a fully functional iPad installed. On the other side of the board is a Wi-Fi signal that lights up when the bindings are in place to mimic the way the Apple logo glows on a Mac laptop. The iPad fits inside a hollowed out piece of ABS and a sheet of aluminum is fitted on the bottom of the snowboard. The wires that light up the signal have connections that are reactant to stainless steel fitted on the base. The team takes the iPad snowboard to Loveland, Colorado to test it out and find that while turning on the board is more difficult, the board was a success! The team listened to The Black Keys while flying down the mountain and socialized with FaceTime in the lodge. See more of their every third Thursday creations on the Signal Snowboards YouTube channel.
