A Video an Hour for IngenuityFest

09/17/12  |  Posted by Vanesa Jeric  |  Posted in Digital Creativity

It was a beautiful weekend to explore the events of IngenuityFest in Cleveland and be alongside such talented artists. Saturday was the "Video an Hour" project by the Cleveland Institute of Art where a video filmed by Scott Ligon, Vanesa Jeric, Maria Rouzzo, or Nicole Matthews would be uploaded hourly from 1am to 1pm to YouTube. We utilized an app called Pinnacle Studio by Corel Inc. to shoot, edit, and upload all on the iPad. We were able to stay mobile and keep filming so we didn't have to miss any performances! It was a great opportunity to be a part of the atmosphere and give a glimpse of the festival through our eyes. It was fun for all ages with activities ranging from build your own robot, color a massive cardboard playhouse, play a game of Minesweeper using only your ears, live bands, a magician, collaborative mural painting, and a mysterious "thread man" walking around the festival in a zombified manner covered from head to toe in a rainbow crocheted cocoon. We even had the chance to meet Howard Ganz, whose organic paintings aim to understand the patterns of nature. He had a lot of interesting things to say in our interview and I hope to see more of his work. To watch all of the videos of IngenuityFest visit The Digital Canvas Initiative on YouTube.
