The British Library has launched a new app for the iPad in conjunction with an ongoing exhibition about royal illuminated manuscripts, which were assembled by English kings and queens over 700 years. The app compiles over 500 high resolution images from 58 manuscripts in their collection, and includes videos of the exhibition's curators discussing the history behind the pieces. And best of all, since the app is brand new they've put it sale until November! Royal Manuscripts: The Genius of Illumination HD in the iTunes store - on sale for $3.99
