Lisa Clague graduated The Cleveland Institute of Art in Ceramics in 1985, when she received the Institute’s Agnes Gund Traveling Scholarship and traveled to Japan to visit kiln sites. She received her MFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1991. Lisa has taught workshops and classes in Metal & Clay at Penland School of Crafts, in Penland, NC, California College of Arts & Crafts, The Cleveland Institute of Art, and was most recently an Adjunct Professor in Sculpture at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Her work is regularly included in the annual exhibitions of the Sculpture Objects and Functional Art fair (SOFA) and the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA), and she has had recent solo shows at John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis, CA, Blue Spiral 1 Gallery in Asheville, NC, and Robert Kidd Gallery in Birmingham, MI. Lisa resides in Bakersville, NC, where she completed her own 1,500 square ft studio in 2004.
