Maloney Art Gallery, in Annunciation Center on campus, 2 Convent Road, Morristown, N.J., Monday, January 23, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The exhibition reveals how astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, and other scientific fields inspired contemporary artists when they created their abstract paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, mixed media pieces, musical works, digital films, and animation sequences. In addition, the exhibition presents works from the scientific community that are, in turn, inspired by art and artistic techniques. The exhibition closes April 15.

Reverently depicted on handmade paper, these pen and ink portraits visually convey how incredibly complex the most common natural specimens may be.
