Professional Photography Facilities
As a Photography major at one of the premier colleges of art and design, you will work in your own studio space in addition to spacious facilities equipped with an array of photographic and video imaging tools and equipment that includes digital and film cameras for both still and moving imagery, enlargers and darkroom equipment, optical scanners, archival and large format inkjet printers, professional studio and lighting gear.
CIA also houses the fabrication studios, a shared space, staffed and supervised by highly qualified technical specialists. Students from all courses of study are encouraged to use this space and do hands-on research with tools and materials. This communal environment gives students optimal means of making for their individual exploration and group projects.
Photography major Emma Howell '14 built a camera that prints images on handblown glass. Wired.com published this feature story on Howell's remarkable achievement.
