Glass artist Kim was born in South Korea. He received his Masters of Fine Art from Kent State University in 2008. He has focused on the kilncasting techniques. He works with Stryrofoam to reveal the hidden value inherent within a particular object.

Many of his glass works have been featured in several influential art exhibitions: “SOFA (the International Expositions of Sculpture Objects & Functional Art) Chicago 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009”, “SOFA Santafe 2011” , Art Palm Beach 2014, 2013, FL, and “BIGG: Breakthrough Ideas in Global Glass” (2009) at Hawk Galleries in OHIO where he was placed as the Best in Show. He has also selected as a finalist in several art competitions: the “NICHE Awards” (2013,2012, 2009, 2007), “2009 MFA Exhibition Competition” at Urban Glass in New York, and “e-merge” (2010, 2008) at Bullseye Glass in Portland.
