Born and raised in Taiwan, ROC, Diana Y. Chou joined The Cleveland Institute of Art in 2009 and has taught Art History: Ancient to the 18th Century, Art of China, Art of East Asia, Museum Studies, Asian Films, and Chines Contemporary Art. Her primary research interests focus on art-collecting cultures and painting taste in China and Japan of the pre-Modern eras; lately she has developed an interest in artistic transformation/adaptation in cross-cultural/cross-national contexts, focusing on the Silk Road.
