Karen graduated with a BA in Art, with a concentration in Painting, and focus in Art History, from Cleveland State University. Karen has worked at several galleries in the Cleveland area, then at the Cleveland Museum of Art in the Development Department, before starting in the Admissions Office at CIA in the Fall of 2008. Over the past several years, she has participated in local group shows, including St. Clair Superior Development Corporation’s Public Art Projects and Sparx City Hop; as well as having attended numerous gallery openings and museum events, and supporting the local arts scene. Karen values the Cleveland artistic community, and helping students prepare for the admissions/portfolio prep process for admittance into the Cleveland Institute of Art.

Title Associate Director of Admissions
Thomas Green, Associate Director of Admissions, works primarily with transfer students and international students. Thomas has worked in visual arts higher education for more than 20 years and has served as a juror at several arts competitions and exhibitions during this time. He is an avid photographer and a free-lance graphic designer. Thomas enjoys visiting Cleveland museums and photographing the city and Lake Erie. He has a B.A. from Ohio State University.

Pita is an advocate and native to this region, and she has been immersed in the Cleveland art scene since childhood. She received a B.A. in Fine Arts from Hiram College, where she studied painting, photography, multimedia, and minored in Art History. She most recently came to the Institute from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cleveland where she was working for the past five years. Pita is a lover of contemporary culture and when she is not at CIA or in her studio, you can catch her motorcycling around town, hitting all of the art openings.

Title Admissions Communications Support Assistant
Alex is a native of the Cleveland area, who lives and works regionally in the Mid-Atlantic, where she graduated with a M.A. in Arts Management from George Mason University. Over the past few years, she has worked for arts organizations and galleries in both Cleveland and the Washington, D.C. metro area, and has supported artists through fundraising and arts advocacy. Alex enjoys playing tourist in D.C., where she often visits historic sites and loves the area’s arts and cultural scene. When in Cleveland, she loves to visit Uptown and University Circle.

Title Vice President for Enrollment Management & Dean of Admissions/Financial Aid
Jonathan Wehner has over a decade of experience in the field of enrollment management, including serving as associate director of information technology for enrollment management, interim director of undergraduate admission, director of strategic marketing for enrollment management, and director of recruitment and strategic initiatives at Case Western Reserve University.
Born and raised in Dayton, OH, Jonathan relocated to Cleveland and has neighborhood bounced from Hessler Street to North Collinwood to Tremont before settling in Ohio City with his wife and their misbehaved dog. By day he recruits students to the Cleveland Institute of Art, and by night he consumes (and sometimes creates) Cleveland art, food, music and sports.
Jonathan's work has been profiled in the Chronicle of Higher Education, the Higher Education Marketing Report, Today's Campus and Cleveland Magazine. In 2013 he was named one of Northeast Ohio's Top 25 Under 35 "Movers & Shakers Award" by the Cleveland Professional Twenty-Thirty Club.
Jonathan earned both a Bachelor of Art in English and an MBA from Case Western Reserve.
