OVERVIEW

The Visiting Artist Program is of immeasurable value as it enhances the educational goals of the Institute and provides links to the larger artistic community. The program "provides an educational resource and forum whereby artists of regional, national, and international renown visit the Institute and foster the exchange of ideas and methods. The program was developed to extend possibilities for innovative instruction and learning; to integrate practicing artists and their work into the learning environment; to contribute to and challenge the academic and artistic discourse within the current curriculum; to present culturally diverse perspectives of aesthetic evaluation and educational programming; to encourage a collaborative and cooperative dialogue among the departments and divisions within the school; and to remain flexible and responsive to the needs of students, faculty, alumni, as well as to members of the greater Cleveland cultural community".
