Monday, March 1 - Saturday, March 20, 2010: All submissions must be in by the 20th, and voting will occur the week of the 23rd. Come to Student Life and Housing at the end of February to pick up a form to submit a design. FREE!
Alternative Spring Break to New Orleans

GLBT and Friends serves as a support group for Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, and Transgendered students. The group works to education students on a variety of topics through social activities, speakers, and meetings.

Provides students with practical experience in organizing exhibits and/or sales of artwork. Although ctivities vary depending on the ideas of current members, the Association usually sponsors a holiday art sale. Annual membership fee is $10.

A student group that gathers weekly to bring together Christian art students. The purpose of Artists for Christ is to promote the spiritual life of Cleveland Institute of Art students by providing opportunities for
Christian spiritual growth through worship, fellowship, training and servant outreach. AFC is a local gathering of the Campus Crusade for Christ.

Community Service Club
Dedicated to bringing opportunities to serve the greater Cleveland community. Past activities include a toiletry drive, and Hope Lodge dinner.
This year we went to New Orleans to do some community service with Habitat for Humanity. We stayed at camp Hope and helped alot of people. Check out the pictures from our trip!

Student Independent Exhibition
The annual Student Independent Exhibition is one of the major shows featured in the Institute’s Reinberger Galleries each year. The Exhibition is sponsored by the Student Leadership Council and offers students the opportunity to introduce their work to the public. Show rules, jury selection, publicity, catalogs, exhibit design and installation and the opening reception are organized and coordinated by students. Students in all
majors are encouraged to submit work for jury consideration.

This group offers students a chance to ski or learn to ski with several events during the winter months. Planning starts as soon as school is back in session. You do not have to have your own equipment to be apart of this group.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
SLC is the student government of SLC. Our goal is to make sure that you are heard and that you hear what is going on. SLC meets once a week in the Student Lounge of the Gund Building. SLC is conprised of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and 2 student representatives from each department.
Elections happen in late September for new representatives. Officers are elected from within SLC.
Some of the things that we host are weekly gallery openings in the coffee house, work with Tuesday Night Special on the Halloween party and Pink Pig. We have made improvements to the school, as well as, fight for students.

Painting Club
This group organizes student run critiques. These critiques will invite local artists or critics. This will give students insight from one another along with opiniions outside the immediate CIA community. They also have readings and discussions.
They meet the second Sunday of each month and have either a critique or discussion. The club will post the meetings and readings on the Painting department's blackboard site and on a poster in the department. All are welcome.
